Cooperation

In May we are focusing on Cooperation. At all grades we are discussing what makes cooperation effective. We'll talk about equity of voice, negotiation, and inclusion. We're adding glue to our boxes to represent sticking together.

Kindergarten will work on some cooperation pictures where each person has a different color. When different people add new ideas, our pictures get even better! In first grade we'll read Elbow Grease Vs. Motozilla. We loved learning about gumption with Elbow Grease when we were talking about Growth Mindset. In this book he is back, but needs the help of his friends. We'll discuss how we all have different skills and alone they are great, but when we add them together they can be awesome! Second graders will read the Knight and the Dragon and discuss how different it feels between working against someone and working with someone. Third, fourth, and fifth graders will be playing some fun cooperative games that require working together for success.
